Count the drawing. Not by hand.
Upload your engineers’ drawing and every component comes out as a line with a count. Check each one on the drawing itself, price it from your price list or your ERP, and put it straight into the bid.
The old way
- 01The engineers send a drawing, and somebody spends an afternoon counting valves, sensors and fittings with a highlighter.
- 02A symbol is missed, or counted twice, and nobody finds out until the order is short.
- 03Every count is looked up line by line in the price list, and typed into a spreadsheet by hand.
- 04A new revision of the drawing arrives, and the whole count starts over to find what changed.
- 05The count lives in one person’s spreadsheet, far from the tender it was made for.
With Stazion
- 01Upload the drawing and every kind of component comes out as a line with a count, in minutes.
- 02Every counted component is marked on the drawing, so a person checks the count where it was made.
- 03Each line is priced by its part number, from your own price list or straight from your ERP, and a guess is never shown as a price.
- 04A new revision is read the same way, and the list shows what changed per line: more, fewer, new or gone.
- 05The count is saved on the tender and written into the requirement it answers, for the whole team.
The file’s own count, or the AI’s estimate.
Every line says which it is, so you know how much checking it needs.
Counted from the file itself
A component your engineer placed from a library is a named block in the file, so the count is the file’s own. The part number on the block comes along, and one block used in several sizes becomes one line per size. A DWG is saved as DXF first (Save As in AutoCAD).
Counted by the AI, page by page
A drawing that is only lines is read by the AI, which counts the symbols on each page. Tell it what to count, or paste the drawing’s legend, and it reads better. A line it was unsure of is marked, and a page it could not read says so, never a silent hole in the count.
From drawing to priced answer.
Inside the tender it belongs to, beside the requirements it answers.
Upload
Add the engineers’ drawing to the tender: a CAD file, a PDF or an image. A job with several drawings gets one tab each.
Count
Every kind of component becomes a line with a count. The frame, the title block and the legend are set aside, not counted.
Check
Press a line and its places light up on the drawing. Take one out, add one the count missed, or mark a new line by hand, and tick it when you have looked.
Price and answer
Each line is priced from your price list or your ERP. Write the count, the prices and the total into the requirement it answers, or download it to Excel.
THE COUNT IS A DRAFT. A PERSON CHECKS IT BEFORE IT GOES INTO THE BID
Built for the people who price the job.
Part of the same workspace your team answers the tender in. See how Stazion answers an RFP.
Every count on the drawing
Nothing is a number you have to take on trust: every counted component has a mark on the sheet, and every mark leads to its line.
A proposal is not a price
A line is priced only when its part number is on your list. A line without one gets a proposed price, which stays out of the total and is never written as the price until somebody accepts it.
Your names for your symbols
Rename a line the AI found, and the next drawing anybody in your organisation uploads is read with your name for that symbol.
Saved on the tender
The count is saved as you work, so a colleague opening the same tender sees it. The price list is uploaded once, for the whole team.
What changed, per line
When the engineer sends the next revision, see how many more or fewer, what is new and what is gone, without counting it all again.
Today’s prices from your ERP
Connected to your ERP, every counted component is looked up there by its part number, so the bid carries the price your system holds today. We set the connection up with your team.
Questions teams ask.
What pricing teams want to know before they hand over a drawing.
A takeoff is the count of every component on a drawing (valves, sensors, fittings, instruments), made so the job can be priced. Done by hand it means a highlighter, a printed sheet and an afternoon. Stazion makes the count from the file and shows every counted component on the drawing, so a person checks it instead of making it.
